FAQ'S

What is Transpersonal Psychology?

Transpersonal psychology is a sub-field or "school" of psychology that integrates the spiritual and transcendent aspects of the human experience with the framework of modern psychology. It is also possible to define it as a "spiritual psychology." The transpersonal is defined as "experiences in which the sense of identity or self extends beyond (trans) the individual or personal to encompass wider aspects of humankind, life, psyche or cosmos." It has also been defined as "development beyond conventional, personal or individual levels."
Issues considered in transpersonal psychology include spiritual self-development, self beyond the ego, peak experiences, mystical experiences, systemic trance, spiritual crises, spiritual evolution, religious conversion, altered states of consciousness, spiritual practices, and other sublime and/or unusually expanded experiences of living. The discipline attempts to describe and integrate spiritual experience within modern psychological theory and to formulate new theory to encompass such experience.
Transpersonal psychology has made several contributions to the academic field, and the studies of human development, consciousness and spirituality. Transpersonal psychology has also made contributions to the fields of psychotherapy and psychiatry.

WhICH formS of payments do you accept?

Once we have communicated about the type and length of session/s that you prefer (in-person, if local, Skype or Telephone), I will send an invoice from PayPal to your email address. You do not need a PayPal account and you can pay for your sessions/s via credit card, debit, or check. For monthly sessions, payment must be made by the beginning of the month. For multi-month packages, payment must be received in full prior to the first session.  Please note there are no refunds.

Do you have a sliding fee scale?

Yes, I have worked with clients that have a limited budget. Please connect with me further to see how we can work out a plan.

Which mode of communication is best?

Really, it is the clients' preference on whether you would like to connect over the telephone (if within the U.S.), Skype, or if local, sit with me in person. Each person has a different way of focusing and sometimes one mode of communication is more distracting than another. Whichever mode that you choose, I will call you at the scheduled time. For Skype users, please send me your Skype ID prior to the appointment. Anyone visiting in person is asked to where comfortable attire without any scented perfumes/lotions.

What does a typical guidance/coaching session look like and how many sessions should I schedule?

It really depends on what the client is seeking. I have some people that come to me for spiritual guidance and have specific questions that can be addressed in one session. Others, would like ongoing support and we gauge the frequency with an initial consult and also as we move through their experiences and goals. Some individuals find that although they receive guidance and direction in the moment that they return down the road for additional support.

Sessions tend to be more conversational where pieces of a puzzle are often uncovered and clarity is brought from and to the messages received from Spirit. Coaching sessions involve spiritual guidance along with setting clear intentions and goals. It is important for you to find a comfortable space for our session where you will be undisturbed and feel safe to express yourself openly.

Additionally, I will guide you through exercises during our sessions and it may be suggested that you also work on things on your own. Guidance sessions can also evoke certain feelings within you. Joy, release, lightness, and feeling of clarity and direction in your life may be present. Motivation and inspiration may also be experienced as a breakthrough, along with "aha" moments. On the other hand, uncomfortable feelings may also arise such as sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, and fear of the unknown. Through each emotion, I see this as an opportunity to listen to our bodies, our messages, internal and external signals, and learn to discern that within ourselves so that we can better navigate our life path. I will work through this with you towards better understanding on how to move forward and accomplish your goals.
